Leslie & Josh: Part 3

And party they did...everyone had a great time, singing, dancing, and toasting the bride and groom all night. Leslie & Josh: Wedding on the Farm, Part 1

Leslie and Josh had the most amazing family and detail-oriented wedding we've seen so far. They were married in early October in Granby, MA, on Josh's family cattle farm. On our ride out to western MA, it poured the entire time. It was the grayest morning, and we were a little nervous for them, because they were to be married in a field...which could have easily ended up being a field of mud. But, we pulled up to check out the state of the location before meeting up with Leslie and Josh while they got ready...and everyone who was there helping to set up was in such good spirits, it was obvious no one was going to let some rain stand in the way of this wedding that had been in the works for so long. Both of their families and friends were there, all pitching in to make their day perfect. Setting out the hay bails, getting generators ready, filling coolers with beer, setting up the arch that Josh had built himself for them to marry under. We could immediately see the fact that these people work hard on the farm every day of their lives, and were working just as hard to give Josh and Leslie their perfect day, no matter what. It was so awesome to see how much effort everyone put in. They had a pig roast set up, big grills with chicken and beef from the farm, corn on the cob, mac and cheese...a country feast, and easily the best wedding food we've been lucky enough to eat! Leslie made practically all the decorations, from the invitations, to the centerpieces. She had their grandparents' initials sewn into her wedding dress, made the bridesmaids' bouquets, had homemade granola as favors...the list could go on forever. Leslie rode into the ceremony with her father on a horse -pulled cart that had been in the family for generations, that carried Josh's parents when they married. I guess you could say we were VERY impressed with the whole shindig. So let's get to the photos...we'll start with everyone getting ready (including the horse that pulled the wedding carriage!) and the ceremony. Then check back soon for Part 2!

Marta & Al: The Party!

After Marta and Al's ceremony (check below for two more posts from the wedding weekend!), we got them down to the beach for a few portraits. Since they didn't have a wedding party, and felt it was important to spend as much time with their guests as possible, they opted out of doing many "formal" portraits. Every bride and groom is different how they want to spend their time on the big day, and we are always more than happy to do our best to make sure they get exactly what they want. So, after a few minutes on the beach with us, it was on to the party! It was all very relaxed and glowy, with sand on the floor and tons of lights hanging from the rafters over the dance floor. Everyone had a fantastic time...it was a perfect Vineyard wedding! Thanks Marta and Al!

Marta & Al: Rehearsal Dinner

Our first meeting with Marta and Al was here in Boston, so when we found out they would be getting married on Martha's Vineyard, we were so happy they decided to hire us! It was in September, but the weather was perfect for their beachy wedding. It was the last weekend of summer season on the Vineyard, and everyone was in good spirits. We spent the whole weekend with them, from their rehearsal dinner on Friday all the way through their Sunday brunch. We wanted to start by sharing a few moments from the rehearsal, which was held at the tennis club down the street from their house. Enjoy!

Jeff, Nicole and Baby Louie

We met Jeff and his wife Nicole at Whitney and Tim's wedding, where Jeff served as minister to marry his two good friends. When he got in touch with us and asked us to photograph his son Louie with the family (and their dog, Penny) we were super excited. Jeff and Nicole are laid back, relaxed and an easy bunch to spend the afternoon with. We plopped Louie in various locations in a park near their home on one of those 70 degree November days, and the light was great. Perfect recipe for a great shoot! Check them out...

Ashleigh & Jon: Engaged!

We started our day with Ashleigh and Jon at McFadden's Pub in downtown Boston. We took our first shots at the very spot at the bar where they met, then headed down into "The Vault" in the basement of the bar. We immediately knew that Ashleigh and Jon were going to be really easy to work with. There's a fine line between being natural, but still kind of "posing", and they had it down. After a quick outfit change, we headed to the Esplanade and made our way to a few spots there. It was a beautiful day, but soooo windy, and Ashleigh did great job not letting on to the fact that she was freezing :) We are so excited to shoot their wedding next October (it's a 1920s themed wedding, so cool!) Check it out...

Andrea & Bill: Engaged!

We spent the day with Andrea and Bill roaming around the Public Garden (where they got engaged), the South End (near where they live) and a few other places in between. They were totally game to climb up onto the stage at the Hatch Shell and let us get some shots before anyone could come along and yell at us. They also jumped the fence into a private park with us because it looked like the perfect place to shoot for their Save the Dates (Andrea will be making our photos into a flip book!). They were prettymuch up for anything. They were willing to break a few minor laws in the name of a good photo, which is pretty awesome in our book. Here they are...

Renee & Keith: Engaged!

We had a fantastic time shooting Renee and Keith'sengagement pictures. Not only because they are awesome, a ton of fun andlaughing all the time...but also because Renee is my best friend of 15 years.We got to spend the day running around the city with our buds and taking tonsof photos. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday. We couldn't be happier for Reneeand Keith...they are like two big kids, and totally perfect for each other. Wecan't wait for their wedding next year...we wish we could shoot it, but we'llhave other duties that day ;)

Whiney & Tim, Married in Maine: Part 1

Whitney and Tim were married at Sebasco Harbor Resort in Maine, over Labor Day weekend. They had the most perfect weather, the most gorgeous setting and an awesome gathering of friends and family that were a ton of fun, to say the least. Whitney and Tim decided to see each other before the ceremony...they had a great private moment between them (and us, haha :), and then we had a whole hour with just the two of them for photos before the ceremony even started. Everyone should do this. It was so relaxed being able to just focus on the two of them, and not try to rush through everything after the ceremony, when everyone wants their chance to talk to the bride and groom. We did bridal party shots during cocktail hour, and the timing of everything couldn't have turned out more perfectly. This is a highly recommended way to do things, because we came home with so much from this wedding that we decided we have to split the blog posts into parts. And also...we just had so much fun with this amazing group of people, that we don't want to leave anything out :) So here's the first part of their day. Kristen and Kevin!

Kristen and Kevin got married on a Saturday, just as Hurricane Irene was reaching Boston. As they were getting ready, the sun was shining, but just in time for Kristen to enter the church...there was the rain. You certainly wouldn't know it by looking at the smiles on their faces though. They laughed so hard and smiled so huge all day, I think everyone basically forgot it was raining. It was a big family affair, with Kristen and Kevin's daughter Ava serving as flower girl, and both of their many brothers and sisters in the wedding party. Everyone, including us, had a fantastic day. No one at this party was going to let a little rain stop their fun! Thanks Kristen and Kevin!

Keira's Senior Pictures

Back in June, we were happy to head out with Keira to shoot her senior pictures, after doing a few formals at her home. We, along with her parents, headed to a beautiful area near their home which included a lake, a creek and endless woodsy paths. Keira had a few outfit changes, only one request (a photo with her Dad's pickup truck!) and tons of great energy and smiles. We honestly did not come home with one bad photo of her. She's a total natural in front of the camera, which of course we love! On top of that, we had a beautiful day...until we took the last shot, got in our cars...and then it rained in buckets. Luckily, we got everything done just in time. Check out the results.

Janice and Bob : Married in Boston

Janice and Bob were married in April at the Park Street Church in Boston. The ceremony was beautiful, with light streaming in through the church's huge windows. After the ceremony, the sun continued to shine outside the church...until we started to head over to the Public Garden, when the rain began to fall. Luckily, Janice and Bob took it all in stride, posing under an umbrella, looking happier than ever. The reception was held at the Holiday Inn on Beacon Hill, with lovely views of Boston on all sides. With so many family and friends there supporting Janice and Bob, it was a day very much filled with love. Thanks to the happy couple for letting us be a part of their day!

Erin and Tom : Married!

Erin and Tom were married at a small church in Hull, with a reception held at the Red Lion Inn in Cohasset. It was late March, and an unfortunately cold day. But, luckily, they were complete troopers and braved the weather as we paraded them around the boardwalk at Nantasket beach. As for the reception...Erin and Tom, and their friends and family, are awesome. They all had a total blast. Everyone was on the dance floor ALL night. Little kids, Erin and Tom's friends from college, cousins, grandparents...really, everyone. All night. We had just about as much fun as they did though, and we are so happy we got to be a part of their amazing day.

Our friend Renee is a children's book illustrator and animator at FableVision Studios here in Boston. As a graduate of the Art Institute of Boston, she was asked to participate in their upcoming catalog for prospective students. She will have a page in the catalog, and she needed some fun environmental portraits to go along with her work. As someone who is making art for children every day, Renee is all about fun, color and characters...as you can see :) The even MORE fun part about this is, she will be drawing some of her own characters around herself in the photos with the white backgrounds. We can't wait to see how they turn out, and we will be posting the "after" photos here when she finishes them.

John Daniel and Grace

John Daniel and Grace are twins, and we got to spend a beautiful day with them. We played in their room, on the stairs (which they absolutely loved, because that's usually off limits...it was hard to pull them away) and outside in their yard after they got all dressed up in their Easter finest. JD and Gracie are awesome, and we had tons of fun with them. We are so lucky to have a job where we get to play with kids! As always, we hope you enjoy.

Race is One!

Race turned one in February, and we were there to document the occasion! We started out by doing some more "formal" portraits, but then we decided to go hang out with him and his Mom and Dad in his room. I think Race liked this much more, and I can't blame him. He checked out some books, played, got thrown around a little and then had a snack. Not a bad day at all, if you ask me. Here's what we came up with. Hope you enjoy them!

Jan-Michael

Recently, we were lucky enough to have a shoot with our little buddy Jan-Michael, and our bigger buddies Liz and Scott. Jan-Michael was ridiculously well behaved. We've nicknamed him Baby Buddha, because he is very zen and totally calm. He was all about getting his picture taken, just hanging out and totally relaxing. He's adorable, as you can see. His parents are pretty cool too.

Whitney & Tim : Engaged!

We spent a brisk November Sunday with Whitney and Tim, shooting their engagement photos and laughing along the way. We walked around to some spots that were special to them : Tim proposed on the footbridge in the Public Garden in an elaborate scheme that involved a friend dressed as a clown, balloons and secret videotaping...so of course, we had to start there. They also went to dinner at 75 Chestnut on the night of their engagement, so we headed over to Beacon Hill to hit that spot too. All in all, it was a great day....and Whitney & Tim even got treated to some free chocolates from a store owner after we took their picture in front of his window display. Needless to say, we can't wait to shoot their wedding next September in Maine!

We wanted to share with you a few of the details from Amy and Anne's lovely wedding. The Red Inn, where the wedding and reception took place, was not only beautiful, but its simplicity and the simplicity of the decorations made a wonderful backdrop for this intimate ceremony. With the ocean at our backs the details of the day did not steal anyone's attention away from the natural beauty, but only added to it. So much time and energy and thought goes into the small details of the wedding day, and we love getting to share those with you!

Amy & Anne

Amy and Anne were married at the Red Inn in Provincetown, MA., surrounded by their friends and family. It was a perfect day at the beach, and the brides were so happy all day, as is evident by their beaming smiles in the photos. They had friends read poems, sing and play the guitar during their ceremony, each one adding their own special gift to the wedding day. We were lucky to have such a fun couple invite us to be a part of their big day!

Race Louis Michael

In February, our good friends Jessica and Rich welcomed their son Race Louis Michael Moraski. We were supposed to make the trip for his first photoshoot by the end of February, but a snowstorm postponed our trek. We made it by the end of March, when Race was 7 weeks old. We got to spend the whole day with Jess, Rich, and baby Race, and got lots of good images in between naps and feedings. As you can see, Race has tons of awesome expressions, and is already throwing up the rock sign, due to some great influences from his Mom and Dad :)

We have so much great stuff from this day, including shots with Jess and Rich, and some with the whole extended family, so stay tuned!

These shots are a sample of the images we got with Caroline for her senior portraits. A few different locations, outfit changes, beautiful weather, and a great model made our job a lot easier! We had a great time doing it, and we, and Caroline, were pleased with the results.
